Centenary prides itself on engaging in mission within the local community and within the world. If you are interested in planning or participating in any of these events, contact the church office.
From late October through the end of March, Centenary hosts Holy Grounds. Holy Grounds is a relational ministry that provides a warm continental breakfast, a safe and comfortable place to visit with others, read the paper, check email, and meet with other community partners. An average of 40 people join us six mornings a week. Volunteers help with the food and keep the coffee hot, visit with the guest, and extend a warm welcome. We are always looking for volunteers to get involved with this program, please contact Erica in the office to sign up.
Centenary frequently serves lunch at the Salvation Army. We often serve on holidays and provide 3-4 lunches on Sundays throughout the year. This is a popular activity that engages many in our Centenary community. Contact the office if you are interested in helping.
ECHO Food Shelf
Centenary has long been a supporter of the ECHO foodshelf. We collect food weekly as well as host special events to help stock the shelves. Drop your donations off by the office during the week or on Sunday mornings.
Habitat For Humanity
The people of Centenary host a building day once a year at a local Habitat work site. We have also supported the Get on the Beam campaign. If you have building skills or just enjoy working on a project, this is an easy way to get involved. Contact the office staff for more information
As a reconciling congregation, our support of the LGBT community includes participation in Mankato’s annual Pridefest event. Look for Centenary’s booth at Pridefest, a mainstay for the last several years.
Children and Youth Missions
Our children and youth ministries focus on issues of social justice. The children support local non profits such as BENCHs and the Backpack Food Program with their weekly offerings. Youth are involved in mission and service opportunities through out the year including mission trips, and activities surrounding issues related to teen homelessness and hunger.
