Frequently Asked Questions

When are Centenary service times?

Services are Sundays at 9:00am and at 10:45 am.  Wednesday Night Open Circle is a casual worship service for all ages which runs from autumn to spring. A meal is served starting at 5:00 p.m. and worship is at 6:00 p.m.

What should I wear?

People come to worship in a wide variety of outfits.  Some dress in their Sunday best and others wear jeans.  Come in what you are comfortable wearing.

May I take communion?

All are welcome to take communion at Centenary.  Children are encouraged to participate in communion with their parent’s guidance.  We use a variety of communion styles including intinction and individual cups.

What about kids in worship?

We welcome kids in our services!  There are fun activity bags available at the back of the Sanctuary for children.  On Sunday mornings, following the children’s moments (a special story time with the pastors) children ages 3yrs- 4th grade are invited to attend a time of Faith Formation where children gather as a group for kid focused stories, songs, and fellowship.  There is also a staffed nursery for infants ages 6 months-3 years.

On Wednesday nights, everyone participates in our 1/2 hour worship service and kids have a special place to be in community.

Which door do I come in?

During the week, door number 1 (the South entrance) is the only door that is unlocked.  On Sundays and Wednesdays both the North (Cherry Street) and South entrances are open.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in the parking lot behind our building.  Additional parking is available on 2nd Street or Cherry Street and on Sunday mornings at the Earl Johnson Furniture lot, the Kolkal office lot, and the YWCA parking lot.  There are also several parking garages located with in a 2-block area. Get directions here.

 Do you have fellowship time?

We gather for coffee and donuts at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, which is between our two worship services. Centenary has long been a supporter of the Fair Trade initiative and we are proud to serve Fair Trade coffee.  We also sell Fair Trade coffee, chocolate, and tea on Sunday mornings.
